State Senator David Livingston filed his paperwork Thursday to run for State Treasurer. The conservative legislator is the first candidate who has filed to run for the office being vacated by current State Treasurer Kimberly Yee, who is running for Governor.
Livingston’s announcement stressed both his conservative record on issues like taxes, border security, and constitutional issues, the broad range of committees he has chaired, including Appropriations, Finance, Insurance & Banking, and awards he has won, including School Choice Champion and Champion of the Taxpayer.
“Before becoming an elected official I had one of the most successful franchise ownerships at Ameriprise Financial, Inc. where I ranked in the top 5% in the country. It was a true financial planning practice, and as a money manager and Chartered Financial Consultant I used multiple investments for my clients, including stocks, bonds, mutual funds, CDs, real estate investment trusts (REITs), life insurance, annuities, disability, long-term care and health insurance.” said Livingston, who added “Understanding the markets, investments, and how to balance risk versus reward to maximize returns for Arizonans is the textbook definition of State Treasurer.”
Democratic State Senator Otoniel “Tony” Navarette is expected to join the race in the near future while two other Republican that were rumored to have Congressional aspirations, are now being mentioned as potential Treasurer candidates — State Senator TJ Shope, who is one of the more liberal Republicans in the State Senate, and Corporation Commissioner Justin Olson, who many still expect to run for re-election to help protect the narrow 3-2 GOP advantage on the rate-setting commission.
For 33 years, I have been proud of his business and political efforts. Today, is no different. This weekend, he will be walking, in the Prescott 4th of July Parade. As always, I will be by his side! #livingstonfortreasurer #AZpoliticalwife https://t.co/OsTBaOHzop
