Three men are in custody after Maricopa County Drug Suppression Task Force conducted an investigation into the trafficking of cocaine and marijuana within Arizona and throughout the country, using the United States Postal Service.
Tayden Bolton, DOB: 6-2-2001, Matthew Maddigan, DOB: 5-29-2001, and Issac Mercado, DOB: 9-7-2000, were interviewed and booked into the Maricopa County Jail for charges stemming from the investigation o June 30.
On June 30, search warrants were served simultaneously on three locations. The operations were conducted by the Special Investigations Division to include Maricopa County Drug Suppression Task Force (MCDST), Fugitive Apprehension Tactical Enforcement Unit (FATE), HIDTA Enforcement Action Team (HEAT), Technical Surveillance Unit (TSU) and RICO Asset Investigations and Disruption Section (RAIDS) investigators.
At the first location, investigators arrested two of the suspects without incident. A third suspect tried to evade detectives by jumping off a balcony of the 4th story apartment and ran into the parking garage before being taken into custody. Throughout the three locations, investigators found: 46 pounds of marijuana, 3.2 pounds of mushrooms,16 grams of cocaine, 2 pounds of cannabis, 415 vape carts, 17 grams edibles, 47 pre-rolls, 11 handguns, 4 rifles, 3 glock automatic switches, rifle plate ballistic vest, high end jewelry, multiple computer systems, 5 vehicles, $380,000 United States Currency (approximately).
“The successful efforts made by these divisions and agencies show incredible collaboration and teamwork. MCSO will continue to investigate and aggressively pursue criminals who threaten the safety of our community,” said Sheriff Penzone.
