Scientists Warn Asteroid Impact Leading To Tsunami

Scientists warn plunging of an asteroid into the Pacific Ocean resulting in a tsunami. They also speculate that the wake of the tsunami would be enormous. Precisely, it can wipe out the whole western North American coast.

An asteroid going by the name Apophis 99942 happens to be a space rock. Further, the dimension of the space rock is approximately 370 meter.  Back in December 2004, the asteroid caused great concern for a small period. Actually, at that time scientists observed initially measured its probability of hitting the earth.

Scientists calculated the probability standing almost three percent to hit on 13th April of the year 2029. However, scientists then ruled this date out in the year 2006. Perhaps, they determined the passing of the asteroid, Apophis through a keyhole of gravitation.

For the record, a gravitational keyhole is a tiny region in space. Interestingly, the gravity of a planet changes in this small region. Therefore, researchers concluded by performing some calculations. According to them, the space rock might hit the earth after seven years exactly. Furthermore, they calculated the date of the impact on 13th April 2036.

Earth To Witness The Biggest And Closest Thing In The Cosmos Era- Astrophysicist

On the other hand, the direct impact of space rock is nearly impossible in the year 2036. Precisely, scientists calculate the probability of this collision to be one in 150 thousand.

Moreover, Neil deGrasse Tyson previously warned regarding the outcome of the asteroid hit. Tyson is an astrophysicist from America. Besides, he is also an author who has revealed the outcome of asteroid crash on earth. In 2008, during a lecture in San Francisco, Tyson revealed his research on the issue.

Tyson says that people on earth will witness the biggest and closest thing ever in cosmos and technology era. However, he added that it is hard for them to measure the orbit and its trajectory.
