The modern-day robots are capable of many things these days. CSAIL researchers from MIT have come up with a revolutionary knitting system. According to the researchers, the robots can knit according to the wishes of the user. On the other hand, the groundbreaking knitting device is powered by a robust computer which allows it to manufacture and design knitted garments.
As of now, even the knitters who are not expert in knitting can easily curate a garment with any hiccups.
How does automatic knitter work?
The knitters can easily create the designs according to their liking with the help of a customizable template. Later, the computer sends the design to the AI knitting machine. Furthermore, this allows the device to curate the design from real wool.
On the other hand, there is a massive advantage of the pre-set templates as they include everyday garments such as gloves and hats. Moreover, this is what allows the machine to recreate the design over and over again. The users have to apply the patterns and textures to objects for designing. More artistic users can also curate the design and the models according to their liking.
Furthermore, the device also has a neutral working system in the network that provides the users with the ability to generate much more panels from the existing one. The people who do not have any prior experience in knitting can also begin to knit using this piece of technology. Alexandre Kaspar, the knitting system’s lead author, said that people could use it every day or occasionally according to their wishes.
