Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office: Bagdad Evacuated, 25-30 Homes Lost To Spur Fire

The Spur Fire has destroyed multiple structures and forced the evacuation of Bagdad, Arizona. According to the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office an estimated 25-30 homes were lost in the mining community.

“As of right now, the fire is at 150 aces and crews are still actively working to contain the fire. The road is blocked and we are asking everyone to avoid the area,” the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office (YCSO) advised in a Facebook post. “YCSO is investigating the cause of the fire. The initial investigation shows that it may be been started by a road construction crew. We are still investigating and will keep the community update. Until then, please keep the families who have been displaced in your thoughts. We appreciate all the first responders on the scene that are working the fire.”

Arizona State Forestry tweeted that the fire is continuing to grow to the north.
