Officials from Wisconsin state health have hospitalized 11 young adults and teenagers with lung damage. Reportedly, they have linked the case with vaping. Similarly, last month, Wisconsin Children’s Hospital says to treat eight teens with severe damage in the lungs.
Nevertheless, health officials claim that all those youngsters suffered from grave illness with respiration. Besides, some of the cases were too bad that they needed ICU and ventilators. Additionally, they also claim that vapes contain some chemicals that people must not breathe. Precisely, it is especially toxic for teenagers.
Previously, doctors warned people about vaping. Notably, they warned that vaping could have led some teenagers ending up in a hospital of Wisconsin.
Moreover, Dr Louella Amos talks on the case when eight teenagers were ill due to vaping. The incident took place a month before the ongoing situation. She is a pediatric pulmonologist at Wisconsin Hospital. She says that the teens could go to their home back then off oxygen. But, she is not sure as to how long the teens would suffer from the issue.
Further, Dr Amos said that she is not able to figure out the exact cause behind the case. However, the state is still investigating the incident.
The Message Must Spread Loud And Clear- Dr Michael Gutzeit
Likewise, Dr Michael Gutzeit has to say on the matter. He says that vaping is continuously harming their kids. Therefore, they want the message to spread loud and clear.
As per a study, it says that about 5% of adults who live with children are using e-cigarettes. Further, it indicates that vaping parents expose children to fumes. And, these fumes are toxic and harmful like tobacco. As a result, teens become secondary subjects of such vapours. Furthermore, the vapours contain compounds such as nicotine, heavy metals, etc.
Similarly, the American Academy of Pediatrics takes the initiative and recommends not using e-cigarettes around children.
