Google restricted the use of Android by Huawei

In a major blow to a Chinese firm, Google has announced that it has now barred the Chinese smartphone maker Huawei from some of its updates for the Android operating system which is run in Huawei smartphones.

After this announcement, it is said that the Huawei smartphones will continue to have access to the Android all though with the help of open source license but the apps which include YouTube, Chrome and Gmail will get disappear from the future handsets.

On Sunday, Alphabet Inc’s Google has announced that it has now suspended all the transfer of hardware, technical services, and software which is publicly available with the help of open source licensing.  This announcement is said to be a huge blow to Chinese technology.

According to a Google Spokesperson, it is said that holders of current Huawei smartphones in which Google apps are used will continue to offer the service, and the users can use it as they are like before. They can also download the app updates, which is provided by Google. The company is too added by saying that they are complying with the order and also reviewing the implications. The spokesperson said that for the users of the services that Google Play and the security protections from the Google Play Protect is said to continue to function on all current Huawei devices.

With this suspension from Google to carry forward the contract with Huawei smartphones, it is now seen that this will affect the business of Huawei outside China as the company is now all set to lose the data access to the updates of the Google Android operating system in future. As per the Trump administration, they announced on Thursday that Huawei Technologies Company Ltd would be blacklist in the trade market. This is the immediate enacting restrictions which will make the things very difficult for the company to carry the business with the US counterparts.

On Friday, a statement from the US Commerce Department said that it was now considered as the scaling back of restrictions on Huawei as they want to prevent the interruption of all the existing network operations as well as other equipment.  Till now it is said that there are no details to which the business of Huawei will get affected due to this decision, and there is also a huge doubt that whether the company can carry forward the operation without US help or not.

As per a source, it said in a statement that, the details about the services which will get affected due to the implication of suspension by Google on Huawei would get discussed internally at Google. It is also seen that the attorney of Huawei also now studying hard about the impact of the blacklist on the company. It is seen that for now, Huawei can get access to the Android version operating system only with the help of open source license, which is known as the Android Open Source Project or AOSP. This is available at free of cost and for everyone who all wants to use this.
