An Arizona Department of Public Safety trooper is a hero today after rescuing a downed Golden Eagle.
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, Trooper Sgariglia was patrolling I-17 near Camp Verde when he saw what he thought was debris on the road.
Trooper Sgariglia soon realized the “debris” was actually an injured Golden Eagle. He called Arizona Game and Fish (AZGFD) for assistance and after coaxing the bird off the road.
AZGFD transported it for further care.
