GLS was first to debut in this world as GL in the year 2007. After some years, this GL was changed to GLS and it is the flagship SUV fleet from Mercedes-Benz. If you thinking to go for a luxurious and classy SUV then Mercedes-Benz GLS 2020 is heading for you soon.
This 2020 model is said to be the S-class of SUVs. The GLS 450 to get powered by a 362 HP turbo with a 3.0-litre inline-six that comes with near to 21 horsepower of electric assist. If you go for the next lineup which is Mercedes-Benz GLS 580, this SUV is powered by the new 483-hp version. It has got a twin-turbo with 4.0 litre V-8 and can boost with the same 21-hp or 184-and-ft electric-assist system with some 48-volt electrical architecture.
This all-new SUV will be available for its customers with a seven-seater facility. It is seen that for the very first time the company is now offering the S-Class like executive rear-seat package which is added to a foldable centre console with the tablet which helps in controlling the infotainment, ventilated and multi-adjustable heated seats. If you look at the sunroof then it is about 50 per cent bigger and got five-zone climate control as well.
With GLS 580, you will get a set of 23-inch wheels. You will get some 19s standard on the GLS 450 and 21s on GLS 580. Till now there is no official confirmation from the company about the dimensions for the interior of the car.
When you come to the front of the car, you will see that the front and rear lamps are designed and placed in shape like the GLE. If you see from the front or rear side, the car will more look like GLE rather than GLS. But still, the car is full of beauty and will catch the eyes of people when you will be taking the beast on a ride among the public.
If you see the interior systems used in the car, you can find that there are dual 12.3-inch screens which help in functions and acts as a gauge cluster. This system got it’s powered by Mercedes which is now supported MBUX system. This system can get controlled by voice, touchpad, touchscreen and in addition to dash and steering-wheel controls.
The body of the GLS has got the E-Active Body Control. This is a system which enables the active and preemptive control for each wheel and it is combined with the road scanning input which gives you a comfortable ride. The car comes with the all-wheel drive function and if you go for the GLS 580, then it will have a two-speed transfer also.
