Updates of the capsule escape system in Space X

During the era of Apollo, the astronauts of NASA relied on the rocket tower which was there at the top of the capsule so that they can be safely pulled away if there comes any situation of emergency. In case i9f this was not used then the tower would have thrown after the reach of the Saturn V rocket at about 295,000 feet. But when both Space X and Boeing Co. began the creation of all of a new capsule, NASA to the decision to maintain the functions of escape to that of orbit.

In the case of Space X, this means making thrusters to the sides of the crew dragon. This is a move that simplifies many of the staging events as well.  The super Draco thrusters are supplied power by nitrogen tetroxide and monomethylhydrazine which are the propellants which ignite immediately when they are combined. This property of the propellants was also held responsible for the accident that happened during a static fire test of the super Draco engines of the Crew Dragon in Florida.

The description given by NASA and space X described this. They said that the orange smoke was observed which is some way indicates that there was some involvement of nitrogen tetroxide.

Neither NASA nor Space X would say that the Crew Dragon was lost in an explosion. The crew Dragon was the same that flew on the unmanned test flight for the very first time to the International space station in March. A spokesperson of NASA also stated that no one was injured in the incident and they said that they are closing working in part6njership with NASA to make an investigation.

The purpose of the Super Drago is the safety of the astronauts. This helps a lot the astronauts to escape from the rocket in the case of an emergency. Thus, the use of the propellants is extremely necessary for the safety of the astronauts as stated by the director of the space engineering research center of USC. Again he added that one would not have to wait for the igniter as this will help the rocket to avail instant thrust.

During the year 2015, there was a test of the abort system of the capsule. The eight super Draco engines of the Crew Dragon were fired up, and the thrust produced by each engine instantly was around 15,000 pounds as per the statement of NASA.

The use of the Hypergolic propellants was done in the spacecraft which dated back in the times which powered the section of the Lunar module of Apollo. The space ship using those were allowed to move through space
