According to federal law, the last week anyone can be paid the federal extension, or Emergency Unemployment Compensation, is December 28, 2013. Unless Congress passes another law, no extended benefits can be paid for any weeks after the week ending date of December 28, 2013, even if there is a balance on a federal extension claim. You may continue requesting payment every two weeks to keep your claim active, in case Congress passes an extension. Future updates will be posted on our website, Twitter, and Facebook.

Once you have exhausted your regular unemployment benefits of 26 weeks, you may qualify for additional federal benefits called Emergency Unemployment Compensation (EUC). These benefits are paid throughout phases called tiers. There are additional requirements you will need to complete to be eligible for EUC.
