$1 Million In Meth And Fentanyl Found On Semitruck Transporting Cars

CORDES JUNCTION, AZ – Over $1 million in dangerous drugs was discover by a Yavapai County Sheriff’s deputy and his drug-sniffing dog last week.
According to the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office YCSO , on July 7, 2021 a deputy conducting traffic enforcement along I-17 near Cordes Junction stopped a semitruck transporting a load of cars for routine equipment violations. After noticing some paperwork inconsistencies, the deputy used his K9 to search the cars being transported and lo and behold, the dog alerted on one.
Hidden in a toolbox inside a van the Deputy discovered 203 pounds of packaged methamphetamine and 28,000 Fentanyl pills, worth over $1 million.
“We know drug traffickers like to get creative, but this is just an example of how nothing gets past our deputies or our dogs,” said Sheriff David Rhodes, Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office.
