PHOENIX, AZ. – Five people are dead, and 5 people are hospitalized after a major crash occurred on Friday along I-10 near Tonopah. The collision involved three vehicles including a semi-truck.
The Department of Public Safety reported that the semi-truck struck one vehicle around 1:21 p.m. along the eastbound lanes of the highway.
**Update #2: Sadly, there are now five confirmed fatalities from this incident.

Troopers say witnesses reported seeing the semitrailer strike a sedan splitting it in half, killing all 5 occupants. The vehicle erupted into flames and crashed into vehicle driven by a mother with four children onboard.
All of them were rushed to various hospitals with serious injuries.
The truck driver was not hurt.
