Former Phoenix Reporter Who Broke Bill Clinton Loretta Lynch Tarmac Meeting Dead In Apparent Suicide

Christopher Sign was a longtime television news anchor and former University of Alabama football player.

Christopher Sign, the reporter and morning anchor at KNXV-TV in Phoenix, who broke the story of the June 2016 secret tarmac meeting between former President Bill Clinton and then-Attorney General Loretta Lynch, is the apparent victim of a suicide.

Sign, who has been an anchor at a Birmingham, Alabama station at the time of his death on Saturday morning, according to AL.com.

Sign wrote a book about his Clinton-Lynch reporting titled Secret on the Tarmac.

Sign also won a 2014 Emmy Award for breaking news for his coverage of the shooting of two Phoenix police officers, as well as an Edward R. Murrow Award for spot news, for his coverage of the search for the “Baseline Killer” and “Serial Shooter” who terrorized Phoenix in the summer of 2016, according to AL.com.

He is survived by his wife and three sons.
