Man Killed In Tucson Police Involved Shooting

The Tucson Police Department is investigating a deadly officer-involved shooting that took the life of 33-year-old Joshua Lee Moore in the 100 block of Prince Road on Monday.

Officers responded to the area at about 5:30 p.m. on May 31, after receiving four separate reports of shots fired.

Upon arrival to the area, officers learned that Moore had discharged a firearm several times outside his residence before going back inside.

According to Tucson Police, officers attempted to make contact with Moore and gave several commands to exit the residence unarmed. Officers eventually made contact with him in the backyard and gave additional commands to show his hands which he ignored.

Police say that during the contact, Moore brandished a revolver. An officer discharged his firearm one time striking him. Moore was pronounced deceased on scene.

Detectives with the Tucson Police Violent Crimes Unit along with sergeants and detectives with the department’s Office of Professional Standards are investigating the incident.
